Synopsis
En una importante academia de música en Tokio, la arrogancia de Shinichi Chiaki sólo es igualada por su excelente forma de tocar el piano. Tras haber tenido una pelea con su maestro, Chiaki va tras su sueño de ser director de orquesta, pero tiene muchos problemas para relacionarse con sus colegas estudiantes, y con sus fobias a volar en avión y al mar, que le impiden salir de Japón a cumplir sus sueños.
Además todo lo empeora Megumi Noda, la nueva compañera pianista de Chiaki que se ha autoproclama como su novia/esposa, insiste en que la llamen "Nodame" y vive justo al lado de él, creando situaciones cómicas y disparatadas.
