Synopsis
Irlanda, 1209, un pequeño grupo de monjes perteneciente a una antigua hermandad necesita protección para llevar una reliquia sagrada a Roma. Esta hermandad ha protegido la reliquia durante siglos, ya que se cree que es capaz de ejercer la ira de Dios sobre los enemigos de quien la usa. El mensajero, enviado por el Papa, recibe entonces el permiso para transportar la reliquia de regreso a Roma, solo si está acompañado por uno de los suyos. La película se centra en el viaje del mensajero, y tres monjes a través del áspero terreno irlandés. Sin embargo, dado el valor religioso de la reliquia, su viaje no será tan fácil como podrían haber anticipado.
