Synopsis
Santo Domingo, 1965, en vísperas de una guerra civil. Pero en un burdel frente al Malecón, es otra noche como cualquier otra llena de clientes, con prostitutas sirviendo bebidas, actuando sobre un escenario e invitando hombres a las habitaciones del segundo piso. Dentro de este “hogar” a los márgenes, Judith es la madame que se encarga de un huérfano sordo y un grupo mixto de mujeres desventuradas. Ella lleva un negocio bien manejado, el cual se viene abajo cuando revolucionarios constitucionalistas dan un golpe de Estado y se apoderan del cabaret como base de operaciones. La mitad de sus mujeres deciden irse, pero Judith y las chicas que aún quedan se mantienen firmes y le siguen el juego a los intrusos, ofreciéndoles cocinar y limpiar para salvaguardar su lugar en el burdel.
