Jack McCall es un agente literario que habla muy rápido, que puede cerrar cualquier trato, en cualquier momento y de cualquier manera. Ha puesto su mirada en el gurú de la Nueva Era, el Dr. Sinja (Cliff Curtis) para sus propios fines egoístas. Pero el Dr. Sinja se da cuenta, y, para darle una leccion...
la vida de Jack se desmorona después de que un árbol mágico de Bodhi aparece misteriosamente en su patio trasero. Con cada palabra que Jack habla, una hoja cae del árbol y pronto se da cuenta de que cuando caiga la última hoja, tanto para él como para el árbol será su fin. Las palabras nunca le han faltado a Jack McCall, pero ahora tiene que dejar de hablar y evocar algunas formas escandalosas de comunicarse o todo habrá terminado antes de encontrar una solución a todo esto.
